Another view of my small pond. 6 ft. x 2 ft. deep. Venturi valve shoots straight across from one side to the other about 1.5 inches above the floor of the pond. It is on 24/7, except when I want to show off or watch my fish. Having the valve on or very near the floor of the pond is advantageous in that debris is constantly stirred up so it will enter the filter. The valve also aerates two ways: directly from the bubbles and as the bubbles rise it, they push the water from the bottom of the pond to the surface. The fish also love the excercise they get swimming against the current! 1000 gph pump although obviously the pumping is much reduced by the venturi. A smaller pump, btw, would not work at 2 ft. depth with the venturi
